Diet Pills : Herb-An Legend?

When I first heard of the magical pill that burns body excess fat while you go about your daily chores, I first dismissed the notion as a myth or some tall tale that some marketing propagandist began to spread in order to sell another commercial product. I ranked them among the Himalayan Yetis, the Lochness Monster and the Abominable Snowman. An urban legend, we can say.

Little did I know that the development of these Weight Loss and Diet Pills were intended to address very serious social, medical issues encountered by a vast majority of the world's population nowadays.

A closer look into the effectiveness and composition of these Weight Loss and Diet Pills has changed my view on these so-called 'wonder drugs'. In fact, it is amazing how this healthy product range demonstrates the perfect marriage between modern-day science and the age- old studies on 'herb craft' --- a mix of the old and new.

There are, apparently, different categories of Herbal Weight Loss and Diet Pills. Let me name a few.

Appetite Suppressors are, shall we say, the 'tricksters' of the range. I say, 'tricksters' because they do just that. They trick our bodies into thinking that we are already full. This decreases the frequency of our hunger pangs, and, naturally, our food intake. This digress equates to lowered calorie intake. So, if we mindfully increase our calorie output by increasing physical activity, weight loss can easily be expected.

Caffeine is an example of a naturally occurring substance contained in Yerba mate, cocoa extract, white willow bark, gotu kola and guarana that is among the ingredients of some appetite suppressants.

Another category of Herbal Weight Loss and Diet Pills is what we call the Fat Blockers. By coining from its term, this type of pill blocks fat absorption. However, it does not mean that by taking a fat blocker, you can ingest as much fat as you want. Moderation is always the key.

Fat blockers enable ingested fat to simply pass along our digestive tract, through our intestines for disposal. This results to reduced excess fat that are normally stored within our bodies as evident in our voluptuous shapes and curves.

Believe it or not, crushed shellfish shells are a common main ingredient in many fat blockers.

The trendiest category nowadays is called the carb blockers. The idea behind this type of Herbal Weight Loss and Diet Pills is that if carbohydrates are not broken down, they cannot be readily absorbed into the bloodstream to produce additional calories for the body. Note that they not completely block carbohydrate break down --- only a decrease in the amount, enough to produce weight loss.

White kidney bean extract is the natural ingredient example of carb blockers.

These are just a few types of the herbal dietary supplements. Consultation with a doctor is necessary to choose the proper type of pill for each individual.

In my journey to unraveling the mysteries of this Herb-an Legend, I have come to appreciate how modern science can ingeniously upgrade quality of life and health without dispensing the natural wonders of nature.
